Twitter tree Christmas card Campaign

www.myxmastweet.com is a giant tree decorated with thousands of tweets from people from around the world.
This is a cool campaign using Twitter’s popularity to create a huge Christmas tree with thousands of tweets instead of using traditional cards or e-mails. Internet users can send holiday greetings to friends and family anywhere in the world. The tweets can be placed in different ways through Twitter, using the tag #myxmastweet or through myxmastweet.com, you simply log onto Twitter and type the message. You can also send a message to a specific contact. The recipient will receive a mention message on Twitter stating that there is a holiday message for him/her in MyXmasTweet.
Love the Christmas tree creative. Not sure about how the messages behave when you open them up, seems a bit clunky the way they come forward but a minor point. I can see this kind of idea working really well for corporate Christmas cards – create a tree for each client and get everyone in the office to write a message to that client. Much more efficient than the ever so tedious process of passing round a pile of cards for everyone to sign which inevitably ends up as just your signature being replicated over and over again until the last card you write is just a squiggle. This idea could actually result in your client wanting to read your card! I can also see this working for causes or charities.
