VJ does Visual Merch

In support of the Dance Off 3D online campaign for Jay Jays, we were also tasked with extending the experience and integrating the goodness into all Jay Jays stores.
Shot the same day as the video production on-location in a Melbourne warehouse, we recruited the talents of commercial photographer Gerard O’Connor to capture the hand-selected professional dancers we’d cast from a series of auditions.
Behind the scenes footage
With a theme of urban warehouse and 3D space, each of the dancers were composed into a series of posters and window hangers, then converted into 3D (or anaglyphic images) through post production. This process involved setting different depths within the imagery to create the illusion of a 3 dimensional space. The warehouse, stars, northern lights and planet are all set on different plains using separate red & blue/green channels. Using the dancers as the central convergence point, shifting the red channel of any isolated element to the left forces it into the background, while moving to right brings it forward.

Featured in-store until mid-late April, make sure you get into one of over 200 stores around Australia, New Zealand and South Africa and check out the mind bending 3D coolness. Take home your 3D glasses to see the video 3D experience online at http://danceoff.jayjays.com.au
